Professional Accountancy (MS)

The Master of Professional Accountancy is designed for individuals seeking to deepen their expertise in accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial reporting. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students develop advanced technical knowledge in key areas such as cost accounting, auditing, international accounting, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and financial reporting. The program emphasizes the application of accounting principles in real-world situations, equipping students with the skills to make informed business decisions, assess operational efficiency, and navigate complex tax issues. This graduate day program can be completed in three 16-week semesters beginning with the fall term. Summer starts (if certain prerequisites are met) and part-time options are possible. For students interested in sitting for the CPA exam, this may be the right program for you. Additionally, students have the opportunity to coordinate sitting for sections of the CPA exam during their program. The content in this program was intentionally aligned to the 2024 Uniform Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Examination®. Students interested in the exam and licensure can pursue our MS Professional Accountancy degree to help them achieve educational eligibility, which stands at 150 credits in most jurisdictions. Licensing requirements to sit for the CPA exam vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. SNHU’s MS Professional Accountancy program is regularly reviewed against evolving requirements for each U.S. jurisdiction.
