The Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language is designed for educators who are seeking to advance their professional practice by pursuing additional coursework. Learning focuses on developing knowledge across key areas in teaching Multi Language Learners (MLL) such as language acquisition, development, assessment, and more. Students gain knowledge and facilitation skills to engage pupils in exciting, hands-on experiences. For those students who are working on Site-Based Licensing Plans within a district, the courses in this certificate program are preapproved by the New Hampshire Department of Education to help meet ED 507.17 “English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)” Teacher licensure standards. Note: The completion of this certificate program does not lead to a recommendation from SNHU for licensure.
